Itinerary
The driver meets you at your preferred hotel in Nairobi at 8.00am and after a short introduction and safari briefing, you will immediately drive to Maasai Mara. You may stop shortly for scenery viewing at the scenic Great Rift Valley view point for a view of the escarpment and a photo session. Proceed to Narok Town where you will have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards proceed to the camp for check in before you enter the park for an evening game drive. This gives you an opportunity to spot the big five animals as well as many other animals which include cheetah, hyena, giraffe, warthog, gazelle, wildebeest and others. As the sun sets, you are driven back to the camp rest and dinner.
Early breakfast at 0700hrs then proceed for a morning game drive to see the park when most active and for a good opportunity to spot the big five animals. You will carry packed picnic lunch to eat during game drives so as to prevent disruption of game drives. After picnic lunch you will proceed with afternoon game drive to explore the new 8th wonder of the world for a chance to take amazing photographs. If lucky you might see an adrenaline filled cheetah hunt in the open plains of the Masai Mara. In the evening you will transfer back to accommodation for dinner and rest.
After early breakfast, you will check out of camp for a final morning game drive to see the park when most active. After the game drives, you will drive to Loita where a different vehicle will meet you at the junction. The camp driver will transfer you from Loita to Maji Moto Eco Camp, where you will spend one night in the Masai village. The camp is operated by local Masai people and your overnight stay will immerse you into the intense natural beauty of the Loita Hills and ancient culture and knowledge of the Masai community. Arrive at the camp for lunch then spend the afternoon on a guided nature walk which acts as an orientation of the camp. During the walk you are guided by a Masai warrior who tells you stories about the culture and various practices. Afterwards, you return to camp for campfire dinner.
After breakfast, you will engage in an exciting Masai warrior training course, which involves stick fighting, spear throwing or archery, specially organized by a Masai warrior. There is also a nearby school which you can visit (if school is in session), and see how the Masai children are taught. After this, you will have lunch then check out of the camp and board your vehicle for a drive back to Nairobi arriving in the evening. On arrival, you are transferred to Jomo Kenyatta Airport to connect with your flight to your next destination.
